Life’s day to day ordeals take away all the fun and romance in a person’s life, what with the rat race and growing competitions, 24 hours of the day seem insufficient and leave little or no scope for relaxation or any other sort of activity leave alone romance. This reason alone suffices for the mushrooming of holiday resorts that promise honeymoon packages, and we can see them going full in any season.
Getting away from the humdrum of daily routine gives you that much-needed rejuvenation and acts as an energizer. If this getting away is with someone you love and would like to spend quality time together the effect would more than expected.
In this connection we would like to suggest some tips to go ahead and get away on a romantic escapade.
- Plan your get away for only the two of you, if children are there arrange with some family members or relatives to take care. If your parents or your partner’s parents are ready to take care it is still better and you don’t need to worry a lot. Your get away would be that much more enjoyable.
- Don’t plan much for the getaway; you are more interested in being together on a romantic adventure and less about the intricate details and comforts involved. Your getaway is to get away from all botheration and complexities of daily routine and your elaborate pre planning will leave little scope for secretive privacy intended for just the two of you.
- Plan your get away to unknown and far off place where you can rest assure of no botheration of mobile phones ringing in the middle of a romantic moment or even in the middle of the night.
- Far off and unknown places give you the advantage of being what you want to be- absolutely naughty, wear the skimpy naughty clothes you always wanted to wear and could not wear for austerity reasons, talk boldly about all those romantic adventures which were erstwhile only whispers and limited to your bedrooms.
- Inform about your whereabouts only on the last day of your getaway and just before starting back. Remember to stash away your naughty and romantic photographs as memoirs to be seen only in the privacy of your bedrooms. Remember not to flaunt them before even the closest of your friends.
- Remember not to discuss family or friends, financial or professional matters on your getaways. You are together and getting away to be together and so-be-it. You an only you matter for both of you. Discuss something about your honeymoon or your last getaway or the togetherness that you enjoyed the last time you enjoyed your getaway.
- If your married and trying to get some romance back into your life and are seeking some fun and adventure remember to act and feel like you are not married and that you are dating partners and are freaking out to have some fun, give out the impression that you are lovers dating each other and planning for marriage and settling down together, and if you are not married and marriage is on the cards and if you are having that pre- marriage togetherness and romance then give out the impression and act every bit of a newly married couple going on their honeymoon. This remember, is not to cheat, impress upon, or take someone for a ride but just for the fun of it for the two of you. Married people get the heck of it acting as unmarried courting couple and the unmarried can feel the security that the feeling of being married offers and get to thinking of getting married.

Honeymoon is a period of intimately learning about each other and this period helps the couple to know the individual attitudes, strengths and weaknesses. This period of twosome togetherness makes it easier for the couple to get over their inhibitions and shy ness and develop a healthy intimacy. This period of honeymoon is more popular and helpful for conservative societies like the Indian societies where pre-marriage sex or live-in relationships and intimacy are still looked-down. Honeymoon helps to overcome the feeling of being strangers. The couple can come together as life mates and not as strangers. The intention is to orient them to each other and give them the much needed space and privacy to get romantically intimate.
Today’s fast moving world leaves little time and space for newly weds to spare time for honeymoon, but the youngsters prefer to cut short the time for the marriage rites and take off more time for honeymoon. This is true, both with people who do not know each other prior to marriage and for people who know each other and have been dating each other for the past some time.
The rushing for honeymoon immediately after marriage proves one thing that the modern apartments and clustered room space in the apartments offer less or almost no space and privacy for the newly weds. So the time spent during honeymoon acts as an aid to give more significance to being together all by themselves. It is very easy to understand each other’s temperament, preferences and likes and dislikes, and this understanding takes place at very close quarters.
People tend to be guarded during the period of dating and seeing each other, and it would not be very easy to understand the inherent attitudes and temperament that can only be assessed gradually after the marriage and when they start living together as husband and wife. Honeymoon acts as a stepping-stone to this living together with acceptance, adjustment, and understanding and for the building up of trust.
Apart from romance and sexual intimacy, honeymoon is a period for observation and mutual exchange of one another’s views. Present day scenario has it that the youngsters having known each other for quite some time through chatting on the Net and through dating, prefer to go ahead with the marriage and when time permits go on a honeymoon to exclusively enjoy the romance and sexual intimacy. Being tied up with the individual professional work loads they find it difficult to take time off for marriage and again for honeymoon, so they get the marriage performed and later when time permits go on a honeymoon trip when they can enjoy the intimate togetherness without much interference and an urgency to get back to regular life.
After marriage the newly weds are bound together and this bond is attributed with a sanctity and a moral and social sanction. So the couple is free of any inhibitions to become sexually intimate. This thought that there is a moral and social sanction and that their relationship has a sanctity attached to it the couple become intimate out of their free will this helps in the process of making the relationship grow stronger and firm.

No relationship can exist without some amount of affection. An intimate relationship like one between life partners can survive only on a firm foundation of affection and mutual liking. What sort of a relation can exist between two people who have no affection between them? What is the use of continuing the relationship where one person does not care for the other? Wouldn’t it be like tying two animals of a sort to the same nail? What can we call the relationship where the partners involved only fight where love is required, and argue where mild persuasion is required? Any relationship thrives on love, trust acceptance of each other’s drawbacks, and care for one another. If all these are pitifully absent in any relationship then the relationship is as good as non-existent
If there are any misunderstandings or lapses on the part of any partner then it is always good for the partners to sort it out by mutual discussion and an acceptance of the fault by the erring person. This sorting out of the problem by the partners themselves without the involvement of a third party would strengthen the relationship but a third party involvement or a heated argument would only aggravate the situation and cause the rift to widen into a great abyss which may not be in a position to be bridged even after many efforts.
‘A broken friendship can be soldered but can never be sound’. If this is true of friendship then how true it has to be regarding a relationship. Small lapses may be forgiven and forgotten but major ones like cheating on one another prove to be very disastrous to any relationship. The relationship may be continued for many other extraneous reasons but genuine affection cannot be one of them or the prime one.
A relationship should be nurtured and safeguarded against all mishaps like we take care of a sapling. Always be on the guard for those small hints of any discord arising out of small lapses. We need to take utmost care of a sapling to see that it grows in to a strong tree with out the fear of pests and malnourishment. Each of the partners needs to always be ready to be adjusting and understanding. Even if there are any minor irritations, disturbances and either of the partners require some space to sort them out it is better to give them that required space.
Respecting and allowing the much needed space will help the partner facing a problem either in professional or personal field, to sort it out without undue interference and the partner can explain the problem if needed and this can develop confidence and mutual acceptance.
Remember it never helps anybody to hang on the back of any body and aggravate the problem, this only suffocates and makes the partner facing some problem to retreat further into his or her shell. Give them the required time and space so that they can come out with the explanations on their own. Respecting each other’s need to come out on their own builds up respect for each other and builds strong bonded affection for one another. Love and mutual affection should develop on its own and on the basis of mutual give and take principle; such relationship can face any tribulations whenever they arise.

Mistakes are a common phenomenon irrespective of the gender. But the mistakes a man commits are more impulsive, thoughtless and unmindful of the consequences. This is true not only in the general daily routine but also in romantic relationships. Men generally take utmost care and caution with regards to their work environment and professional dealings, but when it comes to the matters of the heart they tend to take things for granted and in this over confidant out look they tend to make minor slips which may tend to put the relationship in jeopardy. A little bit of caution and care goes a long way to nurture and strengthen the relationship. Given below are some of the mistakes that generally bog down men and some tips to overcome them.
- Men tend to rush things. That is they try to get too close to the partner in the first meeting and this puts a woman on her guard. She may even try to keep a safe distance.
- Tip: Try to take it easy do not rush things, give her, her time let her decide and help her gain the necessary confidence and a feeling of security. Eventually she is going to come out in all her sincerity to confide in you totally.
- Men tend to be dominating and expect instant recognition, acceptance and importance, whether others accept or not, they try to push things, their own way unmindful of the sensitiveness of the situation or the thought that their acts are going to produce results only in the negative manner.
- Tip: Don not over do and try to listen carefully what the others are saying, before jumping headlong. Avoid, controversial subjects/topics, be positive and try to make a generalized approach, be it in a group or with the partner.
- Men try to be aggressive and try to impress the others/partner with some kind of heroics, which they feel that the partners of the opposite sex fall head over heels. Well, Well, this kind of perception that is universal amongst men is a misnomer. Rather this type of approach may soon end up in a fiasco.
- Tip: Be cool and maintain dignity and at the same time be attentive to the taste of the partner, and do follow sincerely the way a gentle approach would please and impress the partner. Remember that slow and teady wins the race.
- Men try to pretend that they are very bold and so faithful and honest, that they tend to openly admit to the partner, in the very first phase, all the draw backs about them, and expect that their sincere admissions are going to please the partner and that by this way they can win their confidence. This type of approach is absolutely wrong.
- Tip: Try to learn from the ‘crab’. Have you ever seen one on the sea- shore? It just goes in all directions, but only a little way, but finally chooses its right direction and prey and hangs onto it, come what, may. You also tell a little about yourself and probe a little about the partner, and proceed in a cautious way in a phase wise manner and reciprocate the information, before finally coming to know your ground and then go for the big one.
- It is a big mistake with the men that they try to command all the attention and total loyalty and also complete subservience right from day one but this cannot be expected in reality.
- Tip: This is only a testing time, accept her as she comes to you not as something that is getting into your control or your guard, but someone who is coming to you as a person to share your love, life, sorrows and happiness.
- Men try to take and make decisions for the women in their life right from the day one, which only makes the woman feel suffocated and throttled.
- Tip: Try to respect her space as much as you want her to respect yours.

The first of anything involves great anxiety and anticipation. The first day of school. The first day in college, the first day of your first job and the list of the firsts can go on. Similarly the first date is the most anxious, exiting and anticipating time for any person because this has something to do with the person’s physical and mental aspects.
There will be lot of confusion regarding the way you want to dress, the way you want to greet your date, the way the conversation might start, the way every thing has to be handled, Will you be able to impress the other person, whether the other person will be match your expectations, Whether it will be acceptance right from the word go or there would be proper friendly vibes or otherwise. To help a smooth going-on on your first date here are some useful tips.
- If not for the entire day, at least practice for the initial greeting, the first few words and the
first few moments of meeting your partner. Practice in front of the mirror and remember to present a sober yet confident outlook.
- Dress in casuals and be as decent as possible. Women- Avoid heavy make-up and too revealing dresses. Also avoid too low necklines and minis and micro-minis. Avoid heavy jewelry. This gives an appearance of gaudy and loud. Men usually consider such appearance to be too bold and provocative. Give out and appearance of a decent homely next door neighbor look. Presenting your finery and costume parade can wait for some other occasion. Men- Decency and sober outlook will also work out for you, because it gives out an air of sincerity and responsibility. Women fall for that responsible gentleman look that assures them of security and family bond. Garish dressing speaks for irresponsible immaturity and few women would search for their future life in such conditions.
- Remember not to reveal too much of your personal details and information regarding your past. Even if there is nothing to hide about your past maintain your cool and try to elicit as much information as possible from your partner. In short try to be a good listener. Talking too much and giving out too much information on the first instance might diminish the intensity of the interest shown.
- This tip is more for the women. Try and select a place of meeting where there are people around. Sparsely crowded places give a feeling of insecurity and you may try to be uncomfortable, which will show in your behavior and also on your face. This discomfiture will put you ill at ease. Also remember to select a place that is familiar to both of you.
- Remember not to over stay on your first date. Try to stick to your agreed time schedule and gently and courteously yet firmly take leave with a promise to meet again. Do not forget to take one another’s phone and mobile numbers.
- Girls also remember to tell at least one of your close friends about the time, date and place of going on your first date.
- Last but not the least; Let the first date be short, because this increases the yearning in the heart for a second date at the earliest.

A lover necessarily needs to be a friend but the contrary may not be always true. Love presupposes friendship but friendship does not presuppose friendship. Love goes beyond the perspective of friendship where the physical relationship also comes into being. Friendship calls for only a Platonic relationship but love calls for a physical relationship. This sort of love can take place between people of opposite sexes, but friendship can happen between people of any gender.
Friendship can lead to love and many a time friendship between the opposite sexes has in fact led to love and a continued and committed relationship. Such relationships which thrive on friendship are always found to be long lasting at least if not everlasting. Love implies friendship where there is no friendship and a sincere one at that love cannot survive.
We so many times hear people saying, ‘we are just good friends, nothing more than that’ what does this mean? What does nothing more mean? If not the physical relationship and an intension to make the relationship a more committed one?
It is always said ‘A friend In Need Is A Friend Indeed’. We can understand that he is a true friend who is always ready to come to our rescue in times of all our needs. What about a lover? Doesn’t he or she spring to our side when we most require them? Then will there be any meaning in such a relationship?
Friendship between the opposite sexes is still considered dubiously, as in many cases it may eventually lead to physical attraction and a consequent physical relationship. The physical proximity, the physiological differences and the circumstances may lead to a physical relationship. So a Platonic relationship between a man and a woman is difficult if not impossible. This does not mean that every man who befriends a woman or visa versa will naturally and eventually be that persons’ lover and that, that relationship will end up in sharing a physical relationship.
Friendship does not entail much responsibility but love entails responsibility and commitment. A commitment to belong to each other and be faithful. Friends have to be sincere and dependable, but this rule cannot be stretched too far.
Friendship can happen between any numbers of people of different genders but, love can take place only between two people of different sexes, and because of this limited scope the responsibility and commitment is enhanced in a relationship between lovers. A lover can be the lover of only one person at any given period of time and is supposed to remain true to him or her, but a friend can be a friend for any number of people of any gender
