WHAT IS LOVE ?
Love is that soul stirring experience which happens irrespective of age, color, creed and nationality. It is that universal feeling which does not ask for returns or gains. Love, which is pure and genuine, can never be demanding, suspecting and complaining. Love need not be only physical; it can also be austere on a spiritual level. This love can be between siblings, friends, cousins, and is a universal phenomenon that can happen between people and even their pets. An intimate liking, which transcends all mundane considerations, is love in its true sense.
- Love between siblings: This love between siblings takes predominant significance before the marriage of the siblings. It then takes a back seat with the personal family bonds like spouse, children and other issues looking paramount. But the love and bonding between siblings is always carried in the subconscious and will manifest itself whenever the dire need arises. After the running around for goals aims and ambitions, when one's life slows down a bit people wait and have a look back to see what one has achieved or one has to fall back upon one always tries to gather the lost threads of sibling bonds which he or she feels are some where lost along the way, They are not actually lost but are only given a back seat.
- Friends: This is the most important and truest form of love, which does not seek anything in return and finds utmost happiness in only giving. Devoid of any negative feelings it does not call for any gains or returns. There is absolutely no scope whatever for doubt, mistrust, jealousy and secretiveness in friendships. This form of love goes beyond the barriers of color, caste, creed, standing and nationality. This form of love can exist between people of the same gender or of opposite genders. This form of love when it develops into a deeper commitment and the people concerned decide to enter wedlock, the union can many a time surpass the hurdles coming along the path of life.
- Cousins: This form of love is more or less two sided and always depends on a give and take policy. If the families still follow the joint family form then there is some scope for a natural love and bonding to develop between the members of the family but, with the present day scenario changing the outlook of the family setting and the families tending towards a small and single families with the ever increasing influence of the urban life the bond between the members of the extended families is finding a way out.
- Parental Love: This again is the truest form of love in its all-pervading nature. The parents only know to give and seek nothing in return.
- Love Between Spouses: This depends on mutual trust and a feeling of mutual understanding and cooperation. There cannot be any scope for suspicions, cheating and straying. Love given is fully and truly expected back, and true to its concept this and only this can build a strong relationship between the partners.
To sum up love is a feeling of mutual trust, liking and acceptance. It is a feeling of empathizing and rendering a feeling of 'I am there for you' in all your needs, without any doubt or holdbacks. It is like the fresh dewdrop on the freshly blossomed flower, feeling fresh every day and being like that all through the passing days.
