Dating Rules
- This is a period, which can be used to learn each other's drawbacks, needs and strengths. Before entering wedlock and trying to revoke the wedding promises afterwards, saying that they have adjustment problems, it is better to know each other's mentality and living style. If this period is used meaningfully and the persons involved use it to develop their out look and attitude towards marriage, family and the responsibilities therein then they can come out with a mature relationship which will continue life long.
- To safe guard one's intentions it is always better to lay down certain rules for oneself and also for the relationship so that they may not have to face certain unwanted consequences.
- As this is a period of testing for both the parties involved, they should be as natural as possible. To impress one another, neither of the partners should over play or try to act what they are not. Be as sincere as possible.
- Avoid live in relationships as far as possible, because both the parties are not yet fully ready to accept the responsibilities of a married life. The commitment is not firm footed as it is in marriage.
- As the security and assurance, existent in marriage are not expected too rigidly during dating, a subsequent break may not be too hard a heart brake.
- The period of dating should be utilized to learn as much as possible about each other so that there would be fewer complaints after marriage. Unlike an arranged marriage where the parties involved are aware of very little or sometimes nothing about each other, dating gives ample scope for the parties involved to learn each other's values and attitudes towards life.
- When the likes, dislikes, views, behavior, mentality and values clash then the parties should be willing to part as friends without holding any grudge against each other. This will help to develop a healthy and faster get back from setback.
- As this is period of trying to know better, it is possible to try to over impress each other and in this process it is possible for the parties involved to try to conceal or suppress their real feelings and opinions and there can be hassles later on.
- It is better to keep some one informed- a friend, a relative or a confidante about the dating, so that they can stand as witness or safe guard your interests in any eventuality.
- A relationship like marriage should be based on the principle that what is important is meeting of the minds and not mating of the bodies. Abiding by this principle will help the people involved to lay more significance on mental compatibility than on the initial infatuation, looks, attraction and physical appearance.
